Girls Rule!

We made it through the tough dive this afternoon, and got the thumbs up from our dive leader Otter to boot! Grace was my buddy and we were AWESOME! There is nothing that tops the feeling of being perfectly in-sync with your dive buddy, especially in a potentially stressful situation. Here is a small segment of the line recovery drill that Grace and I did better than the other pair, Fabien and Kip (sorry guys!!). In total we were swimming about 45 feet under water with no masks for about ten minutes, and successfully found our excursion line that would lead us back to Aquarius Habitat in the event of a real emergency.
After we did the mask off line recovery, we did yet another mask off drill.  This time we had to troubleshoot and isolate our scuba tank manifold.  Basically, we need to understand how to turn the tank valves on our back to make sure that we can breath on either one tank or the other in the event of an air emergency.  Here is a video of me doing this at my fastest time yet!
Today was a great dive day.  It was a good feeling to be on the same page as my dive buddy Grace, especially considering we are about to spend over 20,000 minutes underwater together! I have a feeling that by the end of the Mission, Grace and I will be able to read each other's minds underwater.

Go Mission 31 Women! Cameraman Billy caught our high-five at then end of today's excellent dive :) Great memory!

Great work ladies! Mask off is my least favourite exercise in regular SCUBA. I can't imagine doing it while getting a double air supply fixed up. Yikes.
